Fans of Aston Villa have taken to social media to express that the club should consider giving Ross McCormack chances this season.
The 31-year-old McCormack was expected to be sold this summer as he was deemed surplus to requirements by Steve Bruce but he will now stay at the club, at least until January.
After a fallout with Bruce, McCormack was shipped out on loan to Nottingham Forest for the second half of last season.
Considering that Villa are currently struggling to deliver in the Championship and that McCormack is one of the most experienced Championship players, there is a strong case to be made for him to given opportunities this season.
One fan wrote on Twitter, “I do hope we give McCormack a chance now,”, while another wrote “#AVFC have kept him. He cost £12 million. We can’t afford (FFP) to waste him.”
It remains to be seen how Bruce will handle the situation.
