West Ham United suffer injury blow to key player

West Ham star Manuel Lanzini has withdrawn from the Argentina national team for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers due to a knee injury.

The 24-year-old Lanzini had to miss the Hammers first two games of the season due to the injury.

He however did return to action this weekend during his teams defeat at the hands of Newcastle, coming on as a second half substitute.

He was meant to be part of the Argentina squad that is set to face off against Uruguay and Venezuela but was forced to pull out as a result of his injury.

Lanzini made his debut for his country in June against Brazil following an impressive showing for the Hammers in the Premier League last season.

He will certainly be hoping to add more caps to his name and make his country’s squad that will play at the World Cup in Russia next summer.
