Former Celtic footballer John Hartson has claimed that Kieran Tierney has the potential to become a world class footballer and is a target of Manchester United.
Tierney who has one the PFA Young Scotland Player of the year award for the past two seasons is regarded as one of the best up and coming talents in Scottish football.
Despite being just 20, he also played a big role in helping the Hoops claim an unbeaten domestic treble success last season as he went on to make 40 appearances in all competitions.
The Scottish giants have been drawn in a tough Champions League group alongside Anderlecht, Bayern Munich and Paris-Saint Germain and this will present the public with an opportunity to see how Tierney fares off against some of the elite clubs of World football.
Hartson was full of praise for the youngster recently and said, “I’m hearing he’s Manchester United’s number one target. Celtic are looking at, if a bid was to come in now, £20-25million.
“If Kieran Tierney has another season, if he’s outstanding in the Champions League, playing really well against the top teams, in the spotlight, all over the world being looked at by all the top clubs, all of a sudden, next year or the year after, you’re getting £45-50m for him.”
