According to reports, Tottenham will lodge a £28 million offer for Ross Barkley.
Spurs are owed a £4.5 million fee by the Toffees due to the sell on clause of Gylfi Sigurdsson who left them to join Swansea before transferring to Everton this summer and they are now looking to use the fee to sign Barkley.
The England international Barkley has just one year left on his current contract at Goodison Park and he is set to be out of action for the next few months due to a hamstring injury.
The 23 year old is looking for a French challenge after turning down the opportunity to sign a new contract with the club.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy believes that the offer that he will present is fair. The fee will comprise of £20 million plus £8 million in add ons.
Everton will surely hope that Chelsea, who are also said to be interested in signing Barkley, enters the race to sign him as this could increase the sale price of the player rather than give him to Tottenham on a cut price.
