West Ham chief admits to sleepless nights

West Ham chairman David Gold has admitted that the club is giving him sleepless nights. The Hammers fell to their second successive defeat of the season following a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Southampton during the weekend.

Though they looked good at times against the Saints and showed resilience to level the scoring when they were 2-0 down through a brace from Javier Hernandez, it was the East London clubs defence, which ended up letting them down.

They will need to sort out these problems soon or else the club could battle relegation this season and many have also predicted that Slaven Bilic may get sacked this season.

Throughout the years, the Hammers have made some good signings such as Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini while they made other signings who did not turn out so well such as Robert Snodgrass.

One fan wrote to Gold on Twitter saying, “You spent nearly £40m on Snodgrass, Ayew and Fonte… how do you sleep at night?” The 80 year old replied saying, “I don’t.”
