Former Rangers star Barry Ferguson has defended the conduct of Hibernian manager Neil Lennon following Hibs’ Scottish Premiership victory over the Gers last weekend.
The 3-2 defeat which Rangers suffered turned out to be quite an eventful match as Ryan Jack was sent off after just 36 minutes.
Following the fame, Rangers Supporters group 1872 ended up complaining that Lennon had made vile gestures to them during the game. Lennon also mentioned that Gers manager Pedro Caixinha had disrespected him during the post-match conference.
However, former Rangers star Ferguson has defended Lennon by stating that he did nothing wrong. The ex-midfielder said, “There’s nothing wrong with a wee bit of needle. The more the merrier as far as I’m concerned. So don’t expect me to join the clamour for Neil Lennon to be hammered for what went on at Ibrox last weekend.
“Because if I’m ever lucky enough to be standing in the away dugout at Celtic Park watching a team of mine scoring, I promise you I’ll not be holding back with my celebrations either. And why should I?”
