West Ham reportedly in talks to sign 25-year-old; £40million release clause

According to reports, West Ham are still in contact with Sporting Lisbon to sign William Carvalho, though the Portuguese club are demanding a higher price.

The 25-year-old Carvalho has a £40 million release clause in his contract and wants to move to the Premier League.

The Hammers are believed to have had their opening offer rejected for Carvalho, who was left out of his sides match day squad for their game against Steaua Bucharest on Tuesday.

It looks like Lisbon are bracing themselves for the departure of the Angolan born Carvalho as they recently signed Rodrigo Battaglia, who is viewed as a replacement.

The Hammers have so far brought in the likes of Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez, Pablo Zabaleta, Joe Hart and SeadHaksabanovic.

The Euro 2016 winner Carvalho would surely be a good addition as the club clearly needs reinforcement in defence and midfield.
