Leeds reportedly looking to sign prolific striker as potential Wood replacement

Chris Wood has been linked with a possible move to Burnley from Leeds United in recent times as according to Yorkshire Post, the Premier League club has evinced interest in capturing the striker.

Sean Dyche, the Clarets’ manager has set his eyes on Wood to replace Andre Gray and is ready to raise his bid to £15million from the earlier £12million offer for the striker, which The Whites had rejected.

Elland Road, which had pegged the New Zealander’s worth at £20m, is set on retaining him at all costs but if the Clarets manage to snare the striker, Leeds United have a contingency plan.

According to reports from the Express, the Whites are planning to bring back Ross McCormack.

The Scotland international had a great run with the club earlier in his career, scoring 53 goals out of 144 appearances. McCormack had since then moved on to Fulham and later to Aston Villa, where he has struggled.

Meanwhile Stoke, Swansea and West Bromwich are keeping a close eye on McCormack.
