Liverpool reportedly could agree to let Coutinho leave for Barcelona on one condition

According to Diario Gol, Liverpool’s tough stance on holding on to wantaway Philippe Coutinho could be softened if Barcelona agree to let Ivan Rakitic move in the opposite direction.

While the Reds will still demand a hefty fee in the region of £100million for the Brazilian, it’s believed they would love to have the Croatian, whom manager Jurgen Klopp admires very much as part of the deal.

The German believes the 29-year-old can help add more steel to his midfield despite not being a like-for-like replacement for Coutinho.

Rakitic is highly experienced as they come, and was once linked with a Manchester United move earlier in the summer.

The former Sevilla man boasts of a phenomenal range of passing, can shoot at goal from a distance and is very technically gifted.

He definitely can be a great addition to Klopp’s midfield, but it remains to be seen if Barcelona are actually willing to let a very important member of their squad go.

Given their desperation to land Coutinho, though, they might give in to Liverpool’s demands, and this could end up being a win-win situation for both parties.
