Richard Keys explains why West Ham boss Bilic is not favourite for the sack

Richard Keys has written on his blog that he does not believe that Slaven Bilic is the favorite to be the first manager to be sacked this season.

The Hammers endured a miserable start to the new season after being comprehensively outplayed and losing 4-0 to Manchester United on Sunday.

After impressing and finishing in seventh position during the 2015-16 season, the Hammers were largely disappointing last season as they finished in 11th position.

Though Keys revealed that he was disappointed by the way the East London club played, he finds it odd that the Croatian Bilic is being suggested as being the first manager to be sacked this season.

He wrote, “I was disappointed in the Hammers. I said in my last blog that I liked their summer transfer business and I still do – so give Bilic a bit of time eh before we jump all over him? That he’s favourite, with Conte, to get the sack first astounds me.”

The Hammers now face a potentially tough encounter this weekend as they take on Southampton and they will have to bounce back.
