This Wednesday, August 16, 2017 (11:45 AM Pacific) Norwich City will host QPR at Carrow Road for a game in the third matchday of the EFL Championship. Both teams have potential in this Championship season and should give a good fight for the three points from the game.
Norwich City is off to a very disappointing start to this new season in the Championship with a 1-1 draw against Fulham and a tough 3-1 loss against Sunderland. Portuguese forward Nelson Oliveira has been the only goal scorer for The Canaries apart from an own goal by Sunderland’s Lewis Grabban. Oliveira started on the bench in the game against Sunderland and replaced Cameron Jerome, who scored a goal in the first round EFL match against Swindon Town, where Norwich took a 3-1 win.
Oliveira is the lone goal scorer on the team in the Championship and maybe Daniel Farke will consider starting the Portuguese striker for this game. This should be a very tough match for The Canaries, especially considering the current forms of both teams.
Queens Park Rangers has had a much better start to the new Championship season, with a 2-0 win against Reading and a 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday. While Conor Washington was the hero of the game against Reading, netting himself a brace, Jamie Mackie scored the lone goal for QPR against Sheffield Wednesday.
The defense has been very solid for Ian Holloway and it is unclear if Steven Caulker will feature in this game but the back line should fair nicely with or without Caulker in the starting 11. The game should be a contested encounter and there is no clear winner heading into the clash, which should make for an entertaining duel.
