This Wednesday, August 16, 2017 (5:00 PM Pacific) Dorados will host Toluca at the Estadio Banorte for a match in the fourth round of matches in the Copa MX. Both teams are doing well in their respective leagues and should provide an interesting encounter in this game.
Dorados de Sinaloa is currently first in the Ascenso MX, undefeated with 12 points but is at the bottom of Group 1 in the Copa MX with no points. The team from Culiacan lost 2-0 against UdeG in Week 1 and 3-0 against Toluca in week 2. Manager Diego Ramirez seems to be much more focused in the league than in this cup competition and it should be difficult to get any points from this game.
Some former Liga MX players have featured for Sinaloa in these Copa MX games like Fausto Pinto, Julio Nava, Amando Moreno and Flavio Santos. Dorados has an interesting squad but will be facing a tougher opponent that already achieved the 3-0 result against them in this competition.
Toluca is undefeated in the Copa MX and is currently undefeated and yet to concede any goals in the Copa MX. Los Diablos defeated Dorados 3-0 in week 2 and more recently achieved a 2-0 win against UdeG away from home in week 3. Hernan Cristante has tested several youngsters in this tournament like Martin Abundiz, Juan Delgadillo and Andy Garcia but has also used experienced vets like Carlos Esquivel, Jesus Mendez and Pablo Barrientos.
Recent signing Alexis Canelo also featured in the game against UdeG and should be in the starting lineup in this game. The game should be an exciting duel, despite there being a clear winner heading into it.
