Joe Hart explains who influenced his move to West Ham United

Joe Hart

Joe Hart has revealed that he spoke to David James before joining West Ham this summer.

After being frozen out of the Manchester City first team plans by Pep Guardiola at the beginning of last season, Hart moved to Italian Serie A club Torino on a one year loan deal.

Having left the Italian club at the end of last season, he joined the Hammers this summer of a season long loan deal.

James, who played for the Hammers during his playing career, was quick to encourage Hart to make the move to East London.

He said, “I know Rob [Green] and Jamo [James] well. Jamo actually said I’d love it here when I spoke to him. I want to add to that and be an England goalkeeper playing for West Ham, I really do, and that’s my intention.”

Hart will be hoping to retain his place as England first choice goalkeeper ahead of the World Cup next summer.
