Rangers star makes plea to teammates following disappointing defeat

Rangers defender Danny Wilson has called on his team-mates to bounce back from their 3-2 defeat to Hibernian by defeating Hearts next weekend.

The Gers enjoyed a confident start to the game after Alfredo Morelos opened the scoring for them early on in the game.

However, after Simon Murray found Hibs an equalizer, the Gers found themselves on the back foot as they had to deal with the sending off of Ryan Jack. An own goal by James Tavernier put Hibs ahead going into half time.

Vykintas Slivka scored a stunner to put Hibs ahead and though Tavernier pulled one back for Rangers, it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.

Wilson has now called on his team-mates to turn their focus onto the game against Hearts, saying, “From the tail end of pre-season, we have been in good spirits and have been building good momentum, which has come to a stop. We need to pick it up again next week and get three points on the board.

“We know we could have done a lot better (against Hibs). With the way we started the game, we could have been a couple of goals up and the sending-off changed it, there’s no getting away from that.”
