Paco Palencia’s team has looked solid with Chilean striker Nicolas Castillo being the standout with two goals in the three games played.
Castillo has been in the spotlight because of some tweets directed towards Liga MX officials but is set to play in this game, despite maybe getting a sanction in the near future. Pumas UNAM should get points from this game, especially playing in front of the demanding home crowd.
Lobos BUAP has been the main story of this Apertura 2017 tournament, currently undefeated in the Liga MX with seven points. The team from Puebla has had impressive performances, getting a draw against Santos Laguna and wins against Pachuca and Queretaro. Manager Rafael Puente Jr. has utilized an unorthodox, very aggressive style that has paid dividends to the team.
Lobos BUAP currently has the most goals in the Liga MX with nine at the time of writing the article. Julian Quinones has been the most impressive player by far with a league-leading three goals so far. Like Nicolas Castillo, Quinones has also been the center of controversy lately with an altercation at a bar. It is unclear if the Colombian will feature in the game because of injuries suffered in the altercation. Lobos BUAP still has a very intriguing squad and could pull some points out of this encounter in Mexico City.
