According to reports, West Ham are preparing a £25 million bid for Sporting Lisbon defensive midfielder William Carvalho.
The 25-year-old Carvalho has been a target of numerous Premier League clubs over the years, though Lisbon have proven very difficult to deal with over a transfer. The Portuguese giants have consistently been demanding a fee which is close to the players release clause of £39.4 million.
Nonetheless, Carvalho, who was part of the Portugal squad that won Euro 2016, is said to be keen on moving to the Premier League.
Although the Hammers have spent heavily on recruiting Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic this summer, manager Slaven Bilic knows that he needs extra reinforcement in his defence and is targeting Carvalho to provide this.
Meanwhile, Hammers midfielder Sofiane Feghouli is said to be wanted by Turkish outfit Galatasary and midfielder Robert Snodgrass has emerged as a target of Championship club Aston Villa.
