Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has admitted that he is frustrated by his clubs transfer dealing this summer as they have missed out on several targets.
The Magpies have so far recruited Jacob Murphy, Florian Lejeune, JavierManquillo and tied Christian Atsu down to a permanent deal.
Many feel that they do not have enough depth to comfortably survive relegation during the upcoming season.
Benitez has now admitted that he feels that his side have not improved much on what they had available to them last season.
He said, “I am not happy but at the same time for me it’s a challenge. I do try my best. It is very hard, the prices are crazy. We missed some targets at the beginning and we’re paying for that. Hopefully we can find solutions and bring in what we need.”
Benitez has long been rumored to be frustrated at the lack of capital that the Magpies are giving him to invest on new talent and some even predict that this could lead to him eventually parting ways with the club.
