Everton star ready to play anywhere for Ronald Koeman

Everton youngster Tom Davies has said that he will be willing to play in any position during the upcoming season as he looks to firmly establish himself as a key player within the Toffees side.

“It can’t do me any harm if I can play in different positions,” he told the Liverpool Echo. “Playing wing-back [in the Europa League last week] was different to playing in midfield, it was tough in midweek and it was another test being back in the middle [against Sevilla]. Wherever I’m asked to play, I’m happy to do the job.

“I enjoy playing in midfield mainly but, of course, I’m happy to play at full-back if I’m asked – it’s just a privilege to be on the pitch playing for Everton. Anywhere the manager wants me to play, I’ll do it.”

The 19-year-old Davies is regarded as one of the best up and coming English talents and was named Toffees young player of the year last season as he made 24 Premier League appearances for the Merseyside club, which included goals against Manchester City and Leicester.

Ronald Koeman has shown his intent on transforming Everton into a trophy challenging side by bringing in the likes of Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford, Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez this summer and Davies revealed that he is prepared to work hard to fight for a place in the side.
