Everton reportedly monitoring World Cup-winning star

As per The Chronicle, Everton have Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman on their radar, and a permanent deal for the 20-year-old could be sealed before the window shuts.

The Toffees are looking to get a third-in-line goalie with Joel Robles still strongly linked with an exit.

Woodman is yet to make his senior bow for the Magpies, but after emerging as the hero of England’s U20 World Cup victory in June, he wants to prove himself and is open to a move.

The Englishman spent last season on loan at the Scottish Premiership with Kilmarnock, and is already being eyed by League One outfits Northampton Town and Heart of Midlothian.

Liverpool and Tottenham have once scouted the promising shotstopper in the last few years, and his high demand triggered Newcastle into extending his deal to 2020.

Crystal Palace are also keen on the 2014 Euros U-17 winning-goalie, and it’s clear to see why.

Woodman is widely tipped to make it to the English senior national team soon, and has continued to prove his potential whenever given the chance.

Everton would be having a future first-choice goalkeeper on their hands if they manage to emerge victorious in the battle for Woodman’s signature.
