Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has warned his players that they cannot rely on Jonathan Kodjia to score the majority of the team’s goals this season.
Kodjia scored 20 goals last season and is set to be out of action for the first few weeks of this campaign as he continues his recovery from injury.
The Villains missed a lot of chances during their 1-1 draw against Hull this weekend in what was their opening game of this Championship season.
Bruce has warned his players that they will also need to chip in with the goals this season and not just rely on Kodija.
He said, “We’ve created a lot of chances – and some really good opportunities too – and at this level you have to stick them away. It’s a problem that blighted us last season and it has raised its head again today. We relied too heavily on Kodj who we don’t have at the moment.”
