The Sun reports that West Brom are willing to take on Everton in the race for Sassuolo striker Diego Falcinelli.
The 26-year-old Italian striker who spent last season on-loan at Crotone was one of the earliest proposed replacements lined up by the Toffees whilst they prepared for Romelu Lukaku’s departure.
Currently rated £10million, Falcinelli bagged 13 goals last term, ensuring Crotone survived relegation by 2 points in the process.
The player has expressed his wish to play in the Premier League, and that has seen him also emerge as a target for Tony Pulis’ side.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman wishes to add one more striker to his sided in the coming days, and Falcinelli wouldn’t be too much of a risk to take for Sassuolo’s asking price.
He performed excellently well under a lot of pressure last season to help his side escape the drop, and he could prove to be a fine addition to Koeman’s frontline due to his fighting spirit.
A striker with the zeal and willpower to take on the challenges of the Premier League definitely has a lot of motivation and hunger in the tank.
These are qualities a side aiming to finish in top six can do with in a number 9, and it’s why Pulis is ready to beat Everton to Falcinelli’s signature.
The Merseysiders cannot simply afford to let such opportunity slip through their hands, especially with no assurances of landing their most desired striking targets.
