According to The Sun, French newspaper Le Parisien claims Tottenham are in pole position to land PSG defender Serge Aurier despite his recent strong Manchester United links.
Serie A giants Inter Milan are also said to have a better chance of getting him ahead of the Red Devils.
The Ivory Coast international right-back is on the verge of leaving Parc des Princes, and would prefer a side that offers Champions League football. That effectively rules Inter out of the race.
Despite talks making the round that Aurier has agreed personal terms with Jose Mourinho’s side in a deal reportedly worth £30million, it’s Tottenham that appears to be showing very serious interest in the services of the 24-year-old.
Understandably so, considering boss Mauricio Pochettino wants a quality and like-for-like replacement for the gone Kyle Walker.
A court hearing next Monday will decide if Aurier can play in the EPL since he’s currently banned from entering the United Kingdom.
If that goes in his favour, Tottenham would then have to spend big in order to actually have a chance of piping Manchester United to his services.
Going all out for Aurier’s signature is worth it as Tottenham will very likely get good value for their investment if they land him.
