According to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has told sporting director Michael Edwards to seal a deal for Barcelona winger Rafinha this summer.
The Anfield outfit are willing to spend in the region of £26.8million and £35.8million to add the 24-year-old Brazilian to their attacking ranks, but they face competition from Arsenal, Tottenham and the Milan giants.
If the deal goes through, Rafinha will become Liverpool’s 2nd most expensive arrival behind Mohamed Salah who arrived in June for £37.5million.
The Egyptian and last summer’s arrival Sadio Mane are the key wingers available to Klopp in the first team, but he believes a quality competition and cover for the duo can be found in Rafinha.
Despite having 3 years to go on his contract, the future of the attacking midfielder at Camp Nou is uncertain following Luis Enrique’s departure from the manager’s seat.
As a result, he is very much open to a move, and Liverpool can get their man if things go well at the negotiation table.
Without a doubt, Rafinha’s well-rounded footballing abilities mean he can add more attacking threat to the Reds frontline.
