This Tuesday, August 1, 2017 (5:00 PM Pacific) Celaya will host Pumas UNAM at the Estadio Miguel Aleman Valdes for a match in the second round of Copa MX play. Both teams will be looking for the three points from the game with Monterrey in Group 2 with them.

Celaya was dominated by Monterrey away from home in the opening round of Copa MX play, taking a 3-0 loss at the Estadio BBVA Bancomer. Los Toros have been decent in the Ascenso MX with draws against FC Juarez and Tampico Madero. Celaya has a very intriguing team with former Puebla Manager Ricardo Valino at the helm.

Some of the notable former Liga MX players on the team include Alfredo Moreno, Angel Reyna and Leobardo Lopez. The team is strong for being a second division side but it will be facing a potent Pumas side in this game.

This will be Pumas UNAM’S first game in this edition of the Copa MX and it is unclear what players Paco Palencia will bring out on the field. With the pressure the Mexican manager has, to perform it will not be surprising if a few key players make it to the starting 11 in this game. The Mexico City team is coming off a 2-1 defeat against Atlas in the Liga MX but did manage to defeat Pachuca 1-0 before that.

Maybe players like Nicolas Castillo or Abraham Gonzalez will feature in this game to help Paco Palencia secure the three points. Pumas UNAM should be able to win this game even if Palencia does not use most of his key starters and there should be a few goals in this game, making for an exciting match.
