Aston Villa reportedly plotting a move for 26-year-old defender

According to reports, Aston Villa, Hull and Sheffield Wednesday are keeping tabs on Wolves captain Danny Batth.

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo has bolstered his defence this summer with the signings of Willy Boly and Roderick Miranda so far and this could see Batth shifting down the pecking order at the club and should this happen, he may be open to a move.

Batth is very experienced and played 41 times in all competitions for Wolves last season, helping the club to avoid relegation from the Championship.

Though the Villains, have signed Christopher Samba and John Terry this summer, Batth will be a brilliant option for Steve Bruce.

Considering that Samba and Terry are now veterans, it remains to be seen if their bodies will allow them to handle the rigors and intensity of the full-length Championship season.  Villa may also need a replacement for Nathan Baker who has joined Bristol City.
