Aston Villa will reportedly only enter agreement for striker at £8million

According to reports, Aston Villa have placed an £8 million price tag on Ross McCormack.

The striker is seemingly surplus to requirements at Villa Park and will likely join a new club before the end of the summer.

The 30-year-old McCormack is said to be wanted by Sunderland, who had a loan offer rejected for him from the Villains.

Black Cats boss Simon Grayson has reportedly made McCormack his number one target as he looks to bolster his side ahead of the new season

McCormack joined Villa last summer from Fulham for £12 million, however he fell out with manager Steve Bruce and was loaned out to Nottingham Forest in January.

Villa will now be hoping to offload McCormack and recoup as much of the £12 million that they paid for him as they can. It remains to be seen if Sunderland will be willing to match this sum of money though.
