Flop Striker to be shown the door by Rafa Benitez

Ligue 1 side Metz is ready to sign Newcastle’s flop striker, 27-year old Emmanuel Rivière this summer as the striker has fallen out of favor to Rafa Benitez.

L’Equipe reports that the player is confident regarding his departure from the St. James’ Park this summer with the north French side appearing to be the most probable destination of his.

Riviere joined the Magpies in 2014 from AS Monaco and has made only 31 appearances while netting a single goal since his arrival. Riviere, after being sent out on load to Spanish side Osasuna last season had failed to score in 15 appearances for the club.

He has now turned out to be a more of a liability for Benitez which the manager is desperate to write off. The Spaniard is looking for a massive overhaul of the squad to fight the big guns of Premier League this season and Riviere is clearly not in the plans.
