Liverpool and Everton reportedly battle to sign South American star

Italian Journalist Alfredo Pedulla has claimed that Liverpool and Everton are interested in Genoa star Diego Laxalt.

The 24-year-old Laxalt earned good reviews for his performances last season during which he made 36 Serie A appearances, scoring one goal and recording four assists.

What also makes the Uruguayan international particularly useful is the fact that he is very versatile being able to also operate as a left-back, left wing as well as in central midfield. It is thought that the player prefers a move to Liverpool over Everton.

The Reds have already signed Mohamed Salah from Roma as well as Dominic Solanke from Chelsea as they look to bolster their options ahead of the new season. They are however unlikely to end their summer shopping and will probably make more additions to their side.

West Ham have also reportedly made an offer for Laxalt, though that is unlikely to materialize.
