Ivan Toney is one the youngsters looking forward to get the first team minutes this season. Be it Newcastle United or elsewhere, the 21-year old forward is desperate to move up the ranks in the team.
However, he is still unsure whether he will be sent back to loan or be given an opportunity, as the Chronicle reports him saying, “I’m looking forward to whatever it’s going to be.”
Toney had a successful loan spell at Scunthorpe United last term where he scored 6 goals in 15 appearances.
The 21-year old also scored a brace for Newcastle’s Under-23s in Whitby Town FC Challenge Cup in a 2-1 win against Celtic Under-23s on the Thursday night.
Ivan Toney realises that sooner or later he will be sent on another loan, but believes whatever the Manager [Rafa Benitez] decides, will be the best for him.
He continued, “As a footballer you want to be playing competitive football, be that in the Checkatrade Trophy or out on loan – wherever it is.”
Toney is well aware that his services are not yet needed by the Magpies, having signed Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic recently.
