Tottenham reportedly plotting a shock move with Everton for experienced star

According to reports, Tottenham have discussed the possibility of signing Everton veteran Phil Jagielka this summer.

Given that Kevin Wimmer is set to depart the North London club this summer in search of regular first team football, Spurs will need defensive reinforcements to his name.

Cameron Carter-Vickers has also yet to make his competitive debut for Mauricio Pochettino’s side and may not be an ideal backup at this point in time, therefore Tottenham are said to be keen on Jagielka.

Jagielka may be nearing his 35th birthday but he is still a useful player who can compete at the highest level and who has plenty of experience under his belt.

The Jagielka link to Spurs is one of the most surprising that has emerged from this summer and should it actually happen, it will be a shock move.

If indeed Jagielka moves to the North London club, he will likely play a bit part role for the club which is what Carter-Vickers is also likely to play as he gains experience at the highest level.
