West Ham boss Bilic provides positive injury update regarding star

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed that Michail Antonio will miss his club’s first game of the upcoming season against Manchester United but added that he expects the 27-year-old to return to action ahead of schedule.

Bilic said, “Michail and Andy are in London. He [Antonio] is ahead of the plan. The plan is for him to miss the first game of the season.”

Antonio is likely to be a big part of Bilic’s plans for the upcoming season having being voted as Hammer of the year last term.

Both Antonio and team-mate Andy Carroll were left out of the East London club’s squads for pre-season trips of Germany and Austria as they focus on returning to full fitness.

Hammers fans will certainly be happy by the news that Antonio will return ahead of schedule. The fact that the club will also have Carroll, Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic as attacking options, is also something exciting.
