Liverpool career of £30million-rated man over following Klopp’s latest decision

As Liverpool’s pre-season preparations get underway, the team have travelled to Germany in order to continue training and also feature in friendlies.

Interestingly, a noticeable omission in manager Jurgen Klopp’s 30-man squad for the tour; first released on Liverpool’s official website is French defender Mamadou Sakho.

Without any doubt, this all but signifies the end of the centre-back’s 4-year Liverpool career.  Since falling out with the manager over disciplinary issues last pre-season, Sakho has not featured for the senior team.

Rather, the 27-year-old spent the first half of last season playing competitive football with the reserves, and the other half on loan with Crystal Palace.

The former PSG man highlighted what Liverpool were missing during the time with some outstanding performances at Selhurst Park, and had it been not for the falling out, Klopp would likely not have considered going after Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk.

With Palace keen on a permanent deal for Sakho, Liverpool are holding out for £30million as his least asking price, and that has put further talks in limbo.

While what the immediate future holds for the defender is unknown, it is very certain that he won’t be playing for the club again, as long as Klopp is in charge.
