Slaven Bilic says he is looking to make West Ham ‘a force to be reckoned with’

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic means business and is looking to transform the Hammers into a force to be reckoned with next season.

Following a disappointing season last term during which they finished 11th in the League, Bilic has managed to recruit seasoned campaigners such as Pablo Zabaleta, Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez and Joe Hart ahead of next season.

Bilic reportedly stressed to the board of his club over the close season that he was not looking for squad players but rather quality players who could help take his side to the next level.

Arnautovic has shone for Stoke for the past two seasons while Zabaleta and Hernandez both have Champions League experience and have won the Premier League with Manchester City and Manchester United respectively.

The Hammers manager Bilic said, “I said at the end of last season that we don’t need squad players, but we need top players, the players who are going to improve the first eleven.

“I wanted quality players who will make a difference if everyone is fit. It’s a massive achievement – it’s not easy, but we have done it.”
