The ‘Partido Centenario’ friendly match between Toluca and Atletico Madrid will be held this Tuesday, July 25, 2017 (6:00 PM Pacific) at the Estadio Nemesio Diez. This game will be a celebration of Toluca’s 100 years since its foundation.
The ‘colchoneros’ will have the priviledge to celebrate Toluca’s centennial match, and they will do so with all their stars. Players like Antoine Griezmann and Fernando Torres will have some playing time, yet coach Diego Simeone will most likely use most if not all of his squad. This will be Atletico Madrid’s first preseason match, meaning the team will use this game as a warm-up to prepare for next season.
The ‘chorizeros’ will welcome one of the world’s greatest clubs in what will undoubtedly be a great celebration. Not only will Toluca host a top team, but they will also celebrate their 100 years in soccer which have earned them ten league titles in Mexico’s first division. Toluca already began their season last weekend with a 0-0 tie against Chivas of Guadalajara which means that they are in full form which may give them the upper-hand this Tuesday night.
