Jurgen Klopp makes bold claim amidst Emre Can’s exit speculations

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has rubbished claims reported by various publications that Germany international Emre Can has agreed terms with Juventus.

As per the Sunday Express, the German boss revealed that the club is in contract extension talks with the 23-year-old following his return to the club’s training ground this weekend.

Can has a year left on his current Liverpool contract, and he wants assurances of regular first-team football before committing his future.

Juventus are hoping he agrees a move to Turin, with Liverpool risking losing him for free next summer if a deal isn’t agreed before then.

Can is currently behind Philipe Coutinho, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana in the team’s midfield selection.

If Naby Keita arrives, Can’s playing time will certainly become more significantly limited, and that could deal a huge blow on his international ambitions ahead of next year’s World Cup.

It is very likely the German player calls time on his Liverpool stay this summer if regular football isn’t guaranteed, but who can blame him?
