Middlesbrough have completed the signing of goalkeeper Darren Randolph from West Ham.
The 30-year-old Randolph was reportedly deemed surplus to requirements at the London Stadium following the arrival of Joe Hart on loan from Manchester City and has now moved on.
Randolph had been strongly linked with a move to Garry Monk’s side after the club lost their first and second choice shot-stoppers from last season in Victor Valdes and Brad Guzan, following their relegation from the Premier League.
Following the completion of the transfer, Randolph revealed that he is happy about is move, saying, “I am delighted to get it all signed and completed. I want to come here and get the club back to where it belongs and I want to be part of something special.”
Randolph made 22 appearances for the Hammers last term and was first choice for much the season; however towards the end of the campaign, he did end up losing his position to Adrian during the latter stages.
