Leeds United have terminated the contract of Giuseppe Bellusci. The Italian reached a mutual agreement with the club to end his contract and he is now a free agent following a difficult three year spell with the Yorkshire giants.
Bellusci was reportedly told by Leeds that he was not part of the club’s future plans last week and the Whites have now released a statement confirming that the Italian has parted ways with them.
It read, “Leeds United can confirm that Giuseppe Bellusci’s contract has been terminated by mutual consent. “We wish Giuseppe well for his future.”
He joined Leeds from Catania in 2014 and was one of the first signings that the club made under former club owner Massimo Cellino.
The 27-year-old Bellusci spent last season on loan with Empoli, though it now appears that Greek outfit PAOK are in the lead to sign him.
