£7million man reportedly close to Aston Villa exit

According to reports, Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout will head to Spain to discuss a potential transfer with La Liga outfit Real Betis.

The 24-year-old Veretout has reportedly become a top target of the Spanish outfit after he impressed during his loan spell with French club Saint-Etienne last season.

During his time with the French club last season, Veretout played 43 matches in all competitions, scoring four goals and recording five assists in the process.

The former France under-21 international joined the Villains from FC Nantes in 2015 for around £7million.  Though he made 29 appearances in all competitions for the club during his first season, he was less than impressive and failed to help save the club from relegation.

He had left Aston Villa on loan last season following its relegation from the Premier League. With his contract set to expire in 2020, Villa could cash in heavily on the sale of the player if they opt to sell.
