According to reports, Chelsea and West Ham are involved in a battle to sign Javier Hernandez.
The Blues have been frustrated in their hopes of acquiring a new striker as they missed out on signing Romelu Lukaku, who has since joined Manchester United.
Chelsea urgently need to find a replacement for Diego Costa, who has been widely linked with a return to Atletico Madrid.
After cooling interest in Olivier Giroud and Kelechi Iheanacho, West Ham have also reportedly made Hernandez a priority target ahead of next season.
The 29-year-old Mexican international has two options at this stage. He can either join the Hammers and become a key player for Slaven Bilic’s side for next season or join Antonio Conte’s Chelsea and fight for a place in the first team.
The former Manchester United striker Hernandez is said to be demanding wages of £140,000. This will be easily affordable to Chelsea. Should Hernandez join West Ham, it would make him the club’s highest earner.
