It has been confirmed that Manchester City have completed the signing of Kyle Walker from Tottenham for £50 million, which is a record fee for a defender as well as English player.
Walker reportedly became unsettled at Spurs last season after manager Mauricio Pochettino opted to select Kieran Tripper over him.
At 27, Walker is a player that is arguably at the peak of his career and Pep Guardiola will be hoping that he can help guide the Citizens to major silverware next season.
For Spurs, the sale could bring in cash as well as help them to offload a player who may have not wanted to carry on playing for the club.
Pochettino did indicate that his club would only sell players that they wanted to and it now appears that they mutually decided with Walker that the best way forward for both parties was to part ways.
