According to French Publication Foot Mercato, Liverpool have offered Atletico Madrid striker Angel Correa a contract worth £12.5m over 5 years.
According to the same publication, this offer has piqued Correa’s interest, however, the 22-year-old forward is hoping to raise the annual figure up to £4m before he makes his interest concrete.
Liverpool have been in talks with the forward, but will need to offer in the excess of £25m for Atletico to consider selling one of their young stars.
Correa, who is a versatile player and can operate on the wings as well, was mainly used as a substitute last season, and managed only 15 starts in all competitions last season.
This did not affect the young Argentine’s production, however, as he chipped in with a commendable 8 goals and 8 assists to help his team along the line.
Having already signed Mohamed Salah and Dominc Solanke, it seems that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is still looking to bolster his attack, perhaps to prepare for the upcoming Champions League run.
