According to reports, Aston Villa are considering a move for Newcastle striker Daryl Murphy.
As he is not part of the club’s plans for the upcoming Premier League season, it is likely that the Magpies will be open to listening to offers for the veteran striker.
Murphy joined Rafa Benitez’s squad last summer for £3.5 million and revealed last month that he had been told that he can leave the club. Murphy and Villa manager Steve Bruce will know each other well, having previously worked together t Sunderland.
The Villains are however expected to face competition from the likes of Sunderland and Nottingham Forest in the race to sign Murphy.
The Black Cats will know that adding experience to their squad ahead of the upcoming Championship campaign may be vital if they wish to enjoy a good season. Thus, Murphy could be a good addition to their squad.
