Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of former Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy on a two year deal.
The 30-year-old Ruddy’s arrival at the club has come four days after the club’s shot-stopper Carl Ikeme was diagnosed with acute leukemia.
Though Wolves had been looking to sign a new goalkeeper before they heard the devastating news about Ikeme, his condition increased the need for them to sign a new shot-stopper.
Ruddy has since admitted that joining the club was a bittersweet moment for him given the condition of Ikeme.
Wolves are looking to launch a promotion push next season and considering the experience which Ruddy has playing at the highest level, he will be a good signing for the club.
During his time with the Canaries, Ruddy played 243 times, which included four seasons in the top flight. He has also earned one cap for the England national team which came whilst Roy Hodgson was manager in 2012.
