Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly entered talks to sign prolific African striker

According to reports, Wolverhampton Wanderers have entered the race to sign FC Porto striker Vincent Aboubakar.

The Cameroon international Aboubakar has attracted the interest of many clubs after scoring 18 goals from 38 appearances for Turkish club Besiktas, while on loan from Porto last season.

Despite his impressive stats from last term, Aboubakar is likely to leave Porto this summer as he is not part of the club’s first team plans and has just one year remaining on his current contract with the club.

Besiktas had an option to sign him on a permanent basis but decided against paying against the asking price that was demanded by Porto.

The financial backing that Wolves are set to receive from their Chinese Consortium is likely to see them invest heavily this summer.

Aboubakar is not the only big-name player to be linked with Wolves as Ruben Neves also reportedly a target for the Championship side.
