Everton handed huge boost by returning star

Aaron Lennon has reportedly returned to pre-season training with Everton. The 30-year-old Lennon was detained under the Mental Health Act in May and according to a statement released by the Toffees at the club, he had been receiving treatment for a stress related illness.

The club have since not commented on his progress though the player was pictured smiling whilst players were being assessed at the clubs Finch Farm training ground.

The last time that the former Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United man Lennon played a game for the Toffees was in February.

Considering that Ronald Koeman is a fan of younger talent and that Lennon has been used sparingly under him, it remains to be seen whether he will form a part of the clubs long-term ambitions.

Lennon is a veteran of the Premier League and should he part ways with his club in the near future, he will not be short of offers to continue his career.
