Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has hailed his club’s new signing Jonny Hayes for the player’s performances during the club’s 1-1 pre-season draw with Rapid Vienna.
Hayes, who recently joined the Bhoys from Scottish rivals Aberdeen, came on as a second half substitute and won the penalty that resulted in an equalizer for the Scottish giants.
Joe Linton gave Vienna the lead and young sensation Moussa Dembele converted from the penalty spot after Hayes managed to win the spot-kick.
Following the match, Rodgers was full of praise for Hayes and said, “That’s what Jonny can do. He has that ability to go inside and outside and I thought he was excellent when he came on.”
Hayes was brought into the Bhoys squad this summer to try and help the club to carry on the form that helped them to win the treble last season and he has certainly proven he can do that with his cameo appearance.
