West Ham striker Ashley Fletcher has revealed that he is looking to Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford as inspiration as he looks to break into the Hammers first team plans next season.
The 21-year-old Fletcher arrived at the London Stadium last summer from Manchester United following an impressive loan spell with Barnsley. His first season with the Hammers was less than successful as he managed just one goal, which came in the EFL Cup against his former side.
The Hammers have made no secret of their desire to add new strikers to their roster this summer as they look to improve their performances in front of goal.
However, Fletcher has remained philosophical about his chances of breaking into the first team and said, “As a young player making my way through, if I am given an opportunity and a run in the team, I think that can only benefit me.
“I look at Marcus Rashford, for example, who has taken his chance and stayed in the team and he’s probably now one of the best strikers in England. The same can be said for Harry Kane as well.”
