According to reports, West Ham United and Newcastle have been informed that they will have to fork out a figure in excess of £8 million if they want to lure Saint Etienne full back Kevin Malcuit.
The French club are also looking to buy some new players this summer and are prepared to sell Malcuit in order to raise funds.
Saint Etienne recently turned down a £6 million move from fellow French Ligue 1 outfit Nice for the services of Malcuit as they deemed it not enough.
Malcuit made 34 appearances in all competitions last season for Saint Etienne and impressed, helping guide his team to the Europa League knockout stages.
The 25-year-old is also said to be keen on moving to the Premier League. The chances are high that one of the Premier League teams interested in Malcuit will end up signing him as his asking price is certainly well within their budget constraints.
