Everton reportedly close to completing huge deal

According to reports, Sunderland have accepted an offer from Everton for the services of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, which could be set to rise to £30million due to various add-ons in the package.

Despite Sunderland being relegated from the Premier League this past season; Pickford was one of the bright sparks in the side and even managed to earn himself a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the year award, which was won by Dele Alli.

Despite Maarten Stekelenburg and Joel Robles being given opportunities for Everton to play in the first team this past season, neither managed to convince that they are capable of holding down the first choice position on a long term basis.

Should the add-on’s on Pickford’s contract be met, he will become the club’s record signing overtaking the £28 million, which the club forked out to lure Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea in 2014.
