Everton target will not leave this summer says teammate

Burnley defender Stephan Ward has said that he does not expect his team-mate Michael Keane to leave the club this summer amid reported interest from Everton and Manchester United.

Ward said that he is unsure of whether Keane will leave this summer saying, “I haven’t heard anything yet, but I wouldn’t expect him to. If Michael goes, we’re going to have to sign someone because we’ll only have three centre-halves.”

The 24-year-old Keane has been linked with moves to United and Everton, who are looking to bolster their teams ahead of next season. Keane is a product of the United youth development system and left the club in 2015 to join Burnley for £2 million.

It remains to be seen if Keane will indeed end up leaving but considering that he has just one year remaining on his current deal at Turf Moor, there is a strong chance of that happening.
